BACKGROUND:
Women and Orphans Society (WORPHANS); Is a non-governmental, non-political, non-religious, non-profit and humamitarian organization founded in the year 2000 by the group of health workers and non-health oriented development practitioners/community development workers with the zeal to positively influence public health and rights.
The NGO is registered with the following bodies:
Ministry of Sports and social Developmentm, Abia State.
Ministry of Women Affairs and Youth Development, Abia State.

VISION:
To attain a society whose people are well informed and who engaged in processes leading to a healthy, fulfilled and dignified life.
MISSION:
To promote and sustain the health and social well being of Women, Children and the Vulnerable members of our society through training, research, advocacy, Care and Support ( With more attention to Widows and Orphans).
GOAL:
To reduce morbidity and mortaliity as to achieve quality health.
To provide framework for the marginallized to realise their full potentials.
